“There’s just not enough time.”
Ever said that before?
I bet you have, we all have.
Certainly all the fitness and wellbeing business owners I work with have said it at some point in their sessions. The feeling that there isn’t enough time can dominate their whole day and often follows them into the long sleepless nights.
But what if the real problem isn’t time itself, but the story we tell ourselves about it?
Remember your mindset shapes your reality. The way we speak to ourselves has a profound impact on our productivity and success. If you constantly tell yourself there’s never enough time, your brain will look for evidence to confirm this belief. It definitely won’t see the evidence that there is more time or the opportunities for more time that may be right under your nose.
You’ll feel stressed, overworked, and trapped in a cycle of frustration.
Sound familiar?
But what if you flipped the script?
Instead of saying, “I don’t have time,”
Try saying, “There’s more than enough time”
Or
“I’m open to seeing opportunities for more time”
Or
“I am actively seeking more time. I know more time is available to me.”
This small shift in language changes how your brain will seek and sort information, changing your perspective.
This is your invitation to rewrite your time narrative.
- Identify how your time beliefs are sabotaging you. Notice the negative statements about time and replace them with empowering alternatives.
- Practice gratitude for your time by appreciating the opportunities your routine brings instead of resenting it.
- Use positive affirmations like “I have enough time to focus on what matters” to reinforce an abundant mindset.
- Plan proactively by using a default diary/ideal week or time-blocking to set priorities and allow buffer time
- Celebrate small wins by acknowledging moments of effective time management to build confidence.
- Limit negative influences by avoiding those who constantly complain about time scarcity and reducing social media distractions.
- Trust the process by remembering that productivity is about consistency, not perfection.
- Remember, each day is a chance to reaffirm your time choices and beliefs.
Changing the way you talk about time won’t magically create more hours in the day, but it will transform the way you use the time you have and help you notice the opportunities you may have missed before.
