When you anchor into why you do what you do and why you’ve chosen these people, mums in midlife, men recovering from injury, women stepping into strength after 50, it changes everything. You see beyond “classes to fill” and connect with real humans who are at the heart of your why.
Business is an energy exchange. You give your expertise, passion, and time. Your clients give their trust, commitment, and money. When you’re working with people who aren’t aligned with your why, that exchange feels lopsided.
But when it is aligned, it’s energising. You feel gratitude to serve them, and they feel grateful for you. That’s abundance in action.
Early in business, it’s tempting to say yes to everyone. But that often leads to resentment and burnout. The mindset shift is realising that you don’t need more clients, you need the right clients – aligned clients.
Ask yourself:
- Why do I want to work with this group of people?
- What do I love most about helping them?
- What frustrates me when I’m out of alignment?
I invite you to take a moment. Close your eyes. Picture your favourite client, the one who always shows up, values what you do, and genuinely benefits from your support. Feel the energy of that session.
Now imagine filling your whole diary with more people like them. That’s the power of knowing why you work with who you work with.
When you’re intentional about why you work with the people you work with, you choose your clients. This has a positive impact on your business:
- Marketing becomes clearer (you know who you’re speaking to).
- Boundaries become easier (you know what you’re willing to accept).
- Success becomes sustainable (you’re energised, not drained).
You don’t have to serve everyone. You’re here for a reason, and the right people are waiting for you. The clearer you are about why you serve them, the stronger your mindset and business will become.
